Submission Wrap-up ✍️

Thank you for your contributions to the Hamilton City Council Long Term Plan and various District Councils in the Waikato. Having your say makes a difference.

You can find our submissions on our website:

Bike Waikato will be attending the Hamilton City Council Long Term Plan hearings from 15-17 May to make a verbal submission – more details to follow if you want to come and support us.

Itching to make more submissions? Make sure you to have your say on the Waikato Regional Council Long Term Plan – closes 2 May. The Regional Council is responsible for environmental matters and public transportation. We are keen to see more bike racks on buses and a continuation of the Te Huia train service.

Could you be our next Bike Valet Coordinator?

We are on the lookout for a motivated individual to help us coordinate our Bike Valet program!

Our Bike Valet service is a premium service designed to increase visibility for cyclists attending events by giving them a cosy, safe and secure place to park their bikes. As a Bike Valet Coordinator, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our bike parking services at various events. If you have a passion for cycling and good organising skills, we’d love to hear from you!

Does this sound like or someone you know? Reach out to [email protected] – do not waste your precious time writing up a motivational letter, just express your interest, and we’ll go and have a coffee together!

New Home Needed for the Bike Library

The Bike Library in Matamata is unfortunately shutting down and is on the lookout for a new home. If you have any ideas, please get in touch with Graeme Porter at [email protected]

Places We Love 💖

How cool is the Te Kete Aronui Rototuna Library in Rototuna North that opened last July? Even better – there are heaps of bike racks for people arriving by bicycle or scooter. We hope that more libraries and public facilities around the city are like this in the future!
